ABOUT US

We are Marc, my husband, our Rhodesian Ridgebacks Bakari, and Bowie and I, Marie. We live in a little house in the scenic Taunus, surrounded by green meadows and forests. My husband is a mechanical engineering graduate and works in sales. Thanks to him working from home and me being self-employed, we are very flexible in our schedules. We spend all our spare time with our four-legged friends – going for long walks and hikes, taking them to the race tracks and also to dog shows.

Everything started with our first Ridgeback Bakari in 2014. He was bred by Martin Klopsch (Kennel „TAU TSOMA“) in Hannover and is the calming influence in our family. With him we took our first tentative steps into the world of dog shows, a bit later we also explored the race and coursing tracks.

Soon it became clear that Bakari would not stay an “only dog” and the wish for a second Ridgeback grew stronger.

Again and again, one dog caught my eye at various shows – Ikimba Jambo Mandela aka “TUTU”. After a while, I contacted Gabi and we visited her and her husband Rolf in their lovely home in Hoisdorf. Together we had a look at his planned matings and one of them sounded particularly exciting: the mating between Kangelani’s One Of A Kind Mali x TUTU in Norway.

Mali’s owner Sonja Helene Olsen is a very kind-hearted and generous person, the kind of person one rarely encounters. With her friendly, open and honest nature she immediately gained our trust which is absolutely necessary when your breeder lives so far away.

We were overjoyed when Mali gave birth to 11 (6 male and 5 female) lively puppies on 09 Jan 2017. Unfortunately, we had to make do with photos and videos for the first few weeks, until we could finally board the plane in week 7 to spend a weekend with the whole Ulwazi family.  Sonja invited us to stay at her house and took care of us the whole weekend. That’s Norwegian hospitality. When we had to say goodbye, our decision was made: Mr. Lightblue would be ours; the little, active, curious and sometimes dominant dog that we thought was the most promising for the show ring.

And Bowie doesn’t disappoint. He develops into a really nice and well-rounded boy, which is also evident from his show results.
